HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from FP2 in Hungary as Leclerc leads the way in another busy session
A day of mixed weather conditions at the Hungaroring ended with Charles Leclerc and Ferrari at the top of the timesheets, as drivers got back up to speed during a dry FP2 session following the rain-affected FP1.
Leclerc’s best time of 1m 17.686s put him just 0.015s ahead of McLaren rival Lando Norris, with Alpine driver Pierre Gasly rounding out the top three and Yuki Tsunoda putting his upgraded AlphaTauri a high-flying fourth.

On a weekend that sees the debut of Pirelli’s ‘Alternative Tyre Allocation’ (11 sets of tyres being available rather than the usual 13), a few of the usual contenders were out of position due to being on different run plans in a jumbled up practice order.
Max Verstappen was 11th, just behind the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, with Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez back in 18th, while the Mercedes machines of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were a low-key P16 and P20 respectively.
After Sainz’s spin and Perez’s crash in first practice, there was little drama to report over the second hour of running, leaving drivers and their teams to dig into the data overnight and come back fresh for qualifying.
